Umami of Japan is a Youtube Channel that introduces Japan's best
produce and flavors by actually visiting the birthplace of each ingredient.
Deep dive into the world of Japanese food and understand how our
commitment to quality is ingrained in our culture.
We hope this series will entice you to
try the Umami of Japan flavors for yourself.
Sweet, sour, spice and salt are the common principle flavors
which are common world wide, but UMAMI is a fifth flavor profile
that is unique to Japan.
This channel is about Japan's unique food culture
and our attitude towards manufacturing.
Our goal is to let people around the world know
and be interested in our products.
We would be grateful if you could feel the spirit of Japanese people's
commitment to manufacturing quality produce through this series.
We will visit various farms and factories all over Japan
and report on them while reporting on the throughts
and feelings of each farmer and manufacturer.

We have been in the business of mail-order food wholesaling and have handled a wide variety of food products for the past 32 years. Through our years of business experience, we now work closely with around 400 farmers and manufacturers located all across Japan. We make it a rule to visit each site personally, to understand the environment, and to personally inspect the actual products we are selling. We are particularly conscious of properly conveying our partners’ feelings and passion towards their products to the customer. We do not believe in simply marketing and selling products, but rather in sharing with the world the background and history behind them.
As food wholesalers, we feel that it is our social mission to pay respect to Japanese ideas about manufacturing, and share this idea with not only the Japanese buyers, but buyers across the world. This is why dialogue with farmers and manufacturers plays a large role in our content as well. Without committing to this mission, we fear that over time, the heart and history in local food production businesses will slowly become obsolete.
As Japanese people, we are proud of the umami culture becoming recognized and gaining popularity overseas. This is why our channel, “Umami of Japan”, is designed to be a program for people overseas to learn about our history and culture on a deeper level. We hope that as many people as possible will learn about Japanese craftsmanship and become interested in it, learn to appreciate it, and even want to come and see it in action. For this reason, we will put our heart and soul into making this program.
We are moving forward with the dream that in the not-too-distant future, many people will be able to visit the production areas of Japan and talk with local producers themselves. Thank you, and please enjoy our content.
